Aedeen O’ Hagan

Aedeen O'Hagan started ballet at the age of 7 in the local ballet school in Bray with Annette Hynes, who had connections with The Abbey Theatre School of Ballet established by the famous Ninette de Valois who also founded The Royal Academy of Dance.

After attending a summer school at The Royal Academy of Dance London at the age of 14, Aedeen was determined to continue her dance studies. She then went on to study dance at the Hammond in Chester, completing her teacher training and becoming a registered teacher for RAD.

On returning from Chester Aedeen joined the Ballet Club based in the Tin Church, Ranelagh and danced in shows held in the Player Wills Theatre Dublin, while establishing schools in Tullamore, Portlaoise, Carlow and Kilkenny. She also danced with the Rathmines & Rathgar Musical Society's production of The Merry Widow in the Gaeity Theatre, Dublin. Aedeen choreographed for various musical societies as a young teacher, but found teaching ballet more rewarding.

Thirty years and many shows/exams later the school has flourished and developed adding RAD Vocational and ISTD Modern Theatre Dance Classes to its curriculum with the expertise and guidance of Adele Mealey.
